GKD Tigris Exterior Feature
Adelaide Airport Adelaide, South Australia
One of Augen's most complex projects to date. The feature on the Adelaide Airport Project includes a curved and twisting rhomboid shaped screen structure approximately 160 metres long ranging from 10 to 15 metres high. Augen completed one of the two faces to the structure, which was clad with almost 280 individual, custom made GKD Tigris mesh panels. Each panel is unique within the structure and fits intricately into one collection.
Augen designed and completed the 3D model to achieve integrated shop drawings that was utilized by 3 different companies. It is a testimony to the collaborative approach in resolving design and construction details that enabled the complex structure to be completed within the time frame and with very few issues during construction.
Our extensive experience and construction knowledge enabled the delivery of an eye-catching, complex stainless steel mesh structure; the only one of its type in Australia and completed to the highest satisfaction.
